H. Andrés Lagar-Cavilla

I am a software systems researcher. I build systems and work on virtualization, operating systems, security, cluster computing, etc.

I co-founded and work at GridCentric Inc, a Toronto-based virtualization startup.

I am the author of SnowFlock, VMGL, and Snowbird. I also worked on Patagonix, Kaleidoscope, cloud-based disaster recovery and mobile device security.

I worked at AT&T Labs -- Research, from January 2010 to October 2011.

I have a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from University of Toronto, with Prof. Eyal de Lara.

My bachelors degree is from Universidad Nacional del Sur in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.

I was awarded the 2010 NSERC Doctoral Prize. I obtained the Eurosys 2009 Best Paper Award. I was a recipient of an NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship. I was granted an Inventor of the Year Award by the University of Toronto. In Argentina I obtained three awards due to my 10/10 GPA.
